LIFE LATELY

The past month or so has seen us travelling up and down the country pretty much weekly.. from celebrating one of our besties getting married in Anglesey.. to a wedding on the West coast of Scotland to a quick trip to Scarborough.. it's been super fun and although it's meant many, many hours sat in a car.. they've been many hours sat with Pete listening to our favourite tunes, looking out at the wonderful English (and Scottish) countryside and having lots more wonderful adventures with lots of ace people..

So although I never seem to completely unpack my suitcase lately.. here's to many, many more road trips..

Back in May we headed up to Anglesey as I was Bridesmaid for my good friend Anna Hardy and her gorgeous fella Adam.  Anna is one of my besties, is a wonderful wedding photographer and is part of From our hearts.. four girls who, a couple of times a year will go camp somewhere in our pjs and talk photography whilst drinking wine.  These girls… Joanna Brown, Debs Ivelja and Anna are my wing women and over the past 4 or 5 years we as a group have supported each other through a lot.  We might not get to see each other as much as we would like.. but we are always there for each other.  These girls mean the world to me and it was a bloody honour to watch Anna marry her boy.  Anna had the enormously talented Nick Tucker (another dear friend) as her wedding photographer and I shot a couple of polaroids for them too.. :)  It was such an amazing day filled with so much love and laughter and it was an absolute joy to be a part of it.

We arrived the day before so that we could help with any preparations and I was given the job of florist!  It was a pretty daunting job but in a good way as I've never done anything like it before but I LOVED it.  I had to fill all the jars for the tables and make 5 bouquets and about 12 button holes (which the lovely Debs helped me with too).  It was such a lovely task and I felt so proud on the day seeing all the girls holding their bouquets and the buttonholes on the boys looking ace..

Here's some iPhone photos from the most blissful couple of days we spent celebrating..

We then got to visit our favourite little buddy Rufus who lives with his Mama and Papa.. the lovely Shutterbox Films.. we had a little cat visitor in our Scottish B&B and had the most wonderful few days shooting the most beautiful wedding beside a loch..

We also had a very quick trip to Scarborough, somewhere where neither me or Pete had been before and we had such a lovely evening walking along the front.  These very British seaside resorts are just magical and hold so much nostalgia and history..

It's turning out to be a very busy wedding season once again but this time we're determined to enjoy the spaces in-between.. we're so lucky to get to travel across the whole country with this job so we're going to make sure that we get there a little earlier.. or stay a little longer and have an explore.. :)

life lately.. {march}

So March has been a funny old month.. considering last year we were sat on picnic blankets in the park soaking up the warm sunshine.. it's felt a little like groundhog day with the snow looking like it wants a piece of Easter.. seriously now.. when is it stopping?!?!?!

But apart from the apocalyptic weather March has been pretty pleasant..

So the carpet in the house is down and life has gone back to normal after 'decorate all the things' phase. I'm not going to lie.. we have probably finished 80% of it but the 20% that is left to do are the types of jobs that probably never get done.. so hey.. lets see if by October any of them will be finished..

So it was my Birthday this month and just like Christmas, me and Pete don't tend to do much in terms of present buying for each other so instead I spent the morning in town buying bits of makeup and the nicest navy and white striped dress from Primark.. (I actually saw it on a guest at a wedding recently and asked her where she got it.. this tends to happen at least once at every wedding).. I also got the lovely coral suede shoes from Accessorize (I now just need the weather to go with them).  I also got some lovely surprises in the post too.. the mug is from the lovely Veronica Dearly (I love it as it incorporates two of my favourite things.. eggs and tea).. and a lovely photo album from the Shutterbox kids.. which I decided to fill with all our wedding polaroids.

Me and Pete then headed down to London for my friend Rachel Simpson's new shoe collection launch. We shot her new collection, agnes and norman in Brighton back in February and walking in and seeing all the imagery alongside her gorgeous shoes.. well, it just makes you feel all warm inside.. :)  I'm going to do a full post on the collection soon but, just beware ladies.. and gents.. you're going to want every single pair.  To top it off the launch was at the beautiful shop Lucy in Disguise which was literally the worst place to put me.. ;)  I came out with the most beautiful dress that I literally cannot stop looking at.. and I think it might actually have been made for me.. :)

We also managed to squeeze in a wedding fair right at the end of March and we'd been secretly planning our stand for a while now.. we had a great time at EWE.. the other suppliers were wonderful and we had such a lovely day meeting people.. and the best thing about it?  Oh my goodness.. I HAVE MY FRIGGIN' NAME IN LIGHTS!! Ha ha!  The amazing Vowed&Amazed (we shot their wedding in 2011) have just absolutely blown us away.. they are AMAZING!!! I absolutely love them and they are taking pride of place in our office forever and ever..

It's been a pretty exciting and hectic month.. here's to a slightly less hectic April..

life lately...

I haven't really got too many Christmas photos to be honest as I spent all of Christmas either sat in my pj's on the sofa or running (yes, running.. even on Christmas Day!). So a lot of these Instagram pics are from the month that was December..

This year (well, last year) we went for a yummy teal tree from Paperchase.. it took me three attempts walking in to the shop to actually buy it.. (was I doing the right thing.. it's not GREEN?!?) but in the end we gave it a home and I LOVED it!

Since January has arrived I've been on a bit of a mad.. 'tidy all the things' phase in the house.. everything is either being cleared out or painted.. including our kitchen cupboards (which I decided to 'test' tonight and now the kitchen looks like CBeebies).

We tasted the delight that was the Meatshack burger (BEST burger I've ever had, fact) at the fabulous Digmas.. which was held literally under our office at the Custard Factory and we even managed to bump in to Thimble & Fred too.. :)

We headed to Liverpool for the weekend before Christmas (all my family live there) and spent two days realising just how Scouse all my family actually are.. just add 'ieeeeeees' to any word.. my Dad's most used is "The wildieeeeeees'.. and you have to guess what that stands for... ;)

But most importantly... we met Stephen (who belongs to Shutterbox Films).  It was a long time overdue and yes.. he is the absolute nuts.
