debs & richie

If I was to write a list of what makes our type of couple, Debs and Richie would tick every single box. We love their sense of style, their amazing wedding design ideas, their families, their taste in music, their little boy Oliver... but most of all, we love them.
We had met them a few weeks prior to the wedding to shoot their engagement shoot and straight away I knew it was gonna be a great wedding.. and they didn't disappoint! I arrived at their gorgeous flat in the morning and was greeted by Debs, her bridesmaids (the bigger ones and the little ones) and their little boy Oliver. The morning was so lovely with everyone chatting and getting ready, with the bridesmaids in a stylish navy and white number with red accessories and the little ones in beautiful white flower girl dresses with sparkly red shoes... even Oliver had a red bow tie and red converse!
Debs then put on her teeny tiny wedding dress. The dress had such a wonderful story... Debs picked it up from a charity shop and the lady in the shop contacted the lady who donated it saying that it was going to be used again! Debs and the original owner met up the week before the wedding and she gave Debs some gorgeous black and white photos of their wedding with her wearing Debs' dress! The lady even turned up on the day to watch Debs get married! (One of the original wedding pictures is on the fireplace in picture 6).
We then headed over to Glasgow Registry office for the cutest ceremony! Their little boy Oliver fell over just before we went in so wanted his Mum all the way through and in the end Debs had him on her hip saying their vows and exchanging rings.. it was perfect.. their little family up there together.
After the ceremony we went to a fabulous venue called Cail Bruich which had the most wonderful restaurant downstairs and then we taken upstairs to an amazing school hall kitted out beautifully with huge pom poms and lights!
We then headed out in the snow for some piccies and the bridal party got stuck in with wellies, scarves and fur coats! Speeches were hilarious and heartwarming and then everyone tucked in to a beautiful wedding breakfast (I really recommend the restaurant) and then the night was finished off with an indie disco and the photo booth! The highlight of the evening had to be a very small group of us dancing and singing our hearts out to 'Home' by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zero's... LOVE THAT SONG!
I also want to say thank you to Debs and Richie for getting me one of the best presents I've ever been given. On the morning of the wedding Debs gave all her bridesmaids little gifts and then she came out of her room with another present and said 'This one's for you Em'... what? A present for me? But I'm working... then I spied what it was through the wrapping and cried. When we had shot their engagement shoot a few weeks back we'd all gone to this amazing vintage shop (to take piccies and have a browse) and I'd seen the most gorgeous yellow padded throw for the bed and showed Pete. They'd gone back and bought me the throw.
Oh and another thank you to the lovely Kat from Rock 'n Roll Bride for featuring Debs and Richie's wedding at the same time on her most fabulous blog! Thanks Kat!
Debs and Richie... thank you for making us feel like one of the family... me and Pete think the world of you both and looking forward to a night out with you guys very soon... xxx

  9. Now THAT's what I call a wedding. I love: the tea cups, the Westwood, the random typewriter and the groom's suit. Oh, and the cute kids! And the hall. Everything. I love everything. Oooh, ooh, and the photos, obviously.

  14. You recorded the day in pictures as did some of the guests in attendance. I haven't seen their offerings but I bet their give you a run for your money. Group photo missing. In my extensive experience with wedding photography, the most looked out for of all the photo albums is the group picture. Not the same bland picture of the happy couple and with various parts of their anatomy missing. Sorry love, but can we have our money back?

  19. Emma, no wonder you couldn't decide what to leave out! I have had my cup of tea and loved every single one of these shots. And to the lovely bride I say well done for the fabulous attention to detail that pulled the whole thing together. A bride with such style and Emma on the photography case is one perfect combination. IMHO!

  20. Emma what an amazing set of photographs they are full of emotion, texture & Subtlety
something,i suspect, the author of the above comment knows very little about,
he's an idiot (sounds like a he)
    you're great.

  21. Ohhh I don't think I've ever commented on my own blog before... :)

Just a little note for the anonymous commentor above.. firstly if you have such a strong opinion then 'anonymous' is slightly pathetic don't you think.. also if you know anything about wedding blogs then you would know that the blog post is not all the images from the day (group photo is very much not missing, neither are the formals), I would also hope that if you have 'extensive' experience then you would value your own clients and their feelings so maybe you should take the same regard for other photographers clients and if you have a problem email me directly rather than calling someone's pictures bland. Your issue seems to be with me not them.
And on the subject of missing anatomy... I think you might be missing something too... they're called balls.

  22. WOWIE Em!! I love the story behind the brides dress, that is just magical. These photo's really pop too love the feel of colour and quality.

To Anonymous... surely if the bride and groom are happy... job done?? I have never known the group photo to be the most wanted!! Not unless you are looking for status and material. Personally I much prefer the happiness that shines through for the happy couple that have shared their intimate day with friends and family. Something which miss Emma Case never fails to capture and is lucky enough to be part of that moment.

Love for Emma Case. Beautiful couple!!

  23. To the Anonymous person....stop hiding behind your keyboard and stop being a jealous fool.

To Emma....lovely work ignore the haters and keep making all those couples super happy.

  24. Love love love as always! Personally I can't wait until I can set a date for my own wedding, book Miss Case and receive lots of beautiful pictures like those above - especially those with bits missing.

  25. Absolutely stunning pictures. I have tears in my eyes. I know what an amazing couple Debs and Richie are and what a gorgeous group of family and friends they have. The pictures have captured every individual element of the couple, family, their tastes and the amazing day.

So, anonymous. Your "extensive" experience is clearly outdated and unloved! If the group shot is the most looked out for picture? your other shots must be terrible in comparison. I suggest you learn some new skills; creativity, manners and humility.

  26. "Cus every little thing she do is MA-GIC! Every little thing just turns me on!" That song was written about you Emma Case, I swear.

I love this wedding and I love your style and whilst nobody's style is going to be to everyone's taste, if you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say it at all.

    x

  27. Really gorgeous Emma!. Colours are beautiful. Your couple sure went into a lot of effort to create such lovely details. Great work! :)

    Hi Emma

Love your work and frequently look at your blog, although don't usually leave a comment (would never get any work done) but just have to say that your reply to Mr/Mrs Anonymous is brilliant. Well done you.

  29. I couldn't stop looking at the some with the bride's reflection in the car window, where she is smiling really huge....such a great job on this wedding Emma Well done!!

  30. Hmm...got a touch of the green eyed monster, Mr/Ms Anonymous? I certainly am glad you weren't my wedding photographer! A wedding is about two people that love each other, and Emma captures love perfectly. Pictures of your rellies in their finery are all very well, bur that isn't what makes a wedding special.

Emma, these pictures are stunning, as usual. I bet the couple are thrilled! x

    ReplyDelete
  31. Ooohhhh WOW!!! As another Scottish bride (to be), I adore these pics. The wedding that I have been dreaming about is captured in each and every photo.
Love love love love them all!

  32. Emma these are absolutely beautiful as always. I particularly love the black and white portraits, they're absolutely breathtaking. The groom's wonderful comment about how happy they are with your pictures makes Anonymous' arrogant request for money back on behalf of the bride and groom even sillier than it was in the first place. You're a wonderful photographer and an even lovelier person, I'm so glad to have you as my friend x

  33. Now that is how to do a winter wedding with S.T.Y.L.E hello groom + scarf, cheeky lil people, and radiant bride. Oh and the story of the dress is like something out of a film, so heart warming.

Sheesh this is good. You are good. Just wished I hadn't had to rush through the photos whilst sneaking a peek at work ;)

  34. Anonymous is clearly a cowardly, insecure ARSE. I pity his clients, I truly do.

    ReplyDelete
  35. this is a gorgeous wedding and you've highlighted beautifully, stunning work. the story of the dress is amazing. i love looking at your blog, but don't often comment... time/work, sheesh, you know!
but felt compelled to after reading that anonymous comment. your work is wonderful and clearly the bride & groom love how you portrayed their special day, isn't that what matters. your response to him was perfect!
    all the best.

  36. What a breathtakingly stunning set of images. Love 'em.

  37. Dear Emma.
As usual, your talent doesn't cease to amaze me. These photos are so beautiful. If I could turn back the clocks, and knew you when we were married, you would definitely be our photographer.
    Love you! x

    Dear Beardy-Wierdy Anony-mouse,
I think you're an odd-ball. That is all.
P.S I'd have a word with your ma and pa about your name. Thats not normal.

  38. Your shots look great, Emma. The jealous poster above is quite clearly a cock. The anonymity of the internet allows the eejits out there to snipe from cover. Come on, let's see your stuff, bud!

  39. Emma, you know how you have Pete? Well, I have Mr Neal above ;)

  42. Wow im amazed by the response from everyone!! Thank you!!

Thank you Emma for creating the most beautiful photographs and capturing our wedding day. The photographs are truly beautiful and me and Richie are two extremely happy bunnies...

You made me cry with tears of happiness when I first looked at them. The pictures have brought back all the emotions and memories of our special day and thats what we wanted, to treasure them forever. We will never get tired of looking at them... they have a magical sparkle to them and can't wait to show them off.

I love you Emma Case (and you petey pete!!)

  43. Beautiful as always - love your style, so very unique.

Anonymous, Emma's clients book her based on what they have seen of her work, they know exactly what style to expect. The bride and groom love them, so you don't have to.

Bet you can't dance like Pete either.

@Claire Killough?.. I knew a Claire Daly once...

  44. On a separate note to Mr/Mrs anonymous welcome to the 21st century and a modern look to wedding photography.. We are most pleased with the work of Emma Case, she is a talented photographer and her photographs are inspirational and prefect!!

Mr/Mrs anonymous will certainly give you a run for your money in the grammar stakes, they are clearly well educated!!!

I appreciate your opinion but you appear to be riding solo on that!!!!

I will requote what I said on Rock and roll bride...

"Richie and myself are in love with Emma and Pete, they made us feel so comfortable and relaxed…Our budget was so small, but the one thing we were willing to spend the most money on, was a photographer. It’s so important to have magical photographs that capture your special day, and capture all your hard work. I cannot say enough nice things about Emma and her talent and how much more special she has made our wedding day and memories.”

    Emma Case ROCKS!!!!!
