ilka and mars

We clicked with Ilka and Mars the second we met them.... well actually we clicked so much that we all ended up steaming drunk by the end of the evening.... that always tends to be a good start!
On their wedding day Ilka was getting ready at the gorgeous Hazlitts Hotel in Soho and when she showed me her beautiful handmade dress (by her friend no less!), her gorgeous, amazingly large bouquet and her Grandmother's beautiful veil my mouth was on the floor... stunning.
We made our way to Clapham Common Church for the service and I was greeted by the gorgeous Mars and his best man and we all made our way inside to wait the arrival of Ilka....
The ceremony was lovely and the vicar made it extremely personal by including stories about Oz (where Ilka and her family are from) and there were two beautiful readings. After the ceremony all the guests headed off to to reception venue and me, Ilka and Mars made our way to the venue too but stopped in for a quick pint and some photos in the pub up the road :) As we walked to the reception we slipped in to the local bingo hall (which used to be a grand theatre) to get some photos in their fabulous lobby!!
The reception was held in Tooting Tram and Social... it's normally a very busy bar and not normally a wedding venue but I must say, it looked AMAZING! When we met for a drink there a few weeks before I was blown away with the amazing decoration of old furniture, frames and antlers on the wall and gorgeous little vintage lamps above the bar.... I just wanted to move in! Then on the actual day the tables looked amazing with Mar's amazing menu design as guest's table names (Mars also designed the invites and the orders of service).
Food and drink was served, speeches were given and a lovely little video montage of some friends from overseas who couldn't make it saw us into the evening where the dancing began and was still going long after we left!
It was such a great day and Ilka and Mars looked the bloody bomb! They make such a fantastic couple and anyone that gets the pleasure of being in their company will have such a good time.... me and Pete certainly did! :)
