I spend a lot of my time on Flickr... uploading my photos and drooling over the hundreds and hundreds of gorgeously talented photographers who inspire me every day to do better. The pictures are truly stunning and the support that this wonderful community offers is enormous... one huge photography family appreciating each others talents to the full. How amazing is that.

So I've set up my own Flickr group.

The group is for all us UK photographers that follow all our American (and other parts of the world) photography buddies, watching in awe their style, colours and composition and maybe are finding our own way..... :)

A gorgeous photo session with my friend Perina's children Elly and Amy. I haven't seen Perina for about 4 years and I come back and she has 2 kiddy winks! I'd never met the girls but from the moment I walked through the door it was 'Emma, look at my handstand!', 'Emma look at my toys!'... I loved it! I even got a huge cuddle and a kiss from them both to take away! I've had a brilliant morning and any excuse to splash in a few puddles gets the thumbs up from me!

time out

I've moved around the country quite a bit over the last 8 years and along the way have made some pretty amazing friends. It's so easy to slip into the hecticness of daily life and before you know it you haven't seen or even spoken to people for months. With facebook it's so easy to keep up to date with what everyone is doing, where they went on holiday, who they're dating or what they had for tea..... but actually having a good old chat seems to be getting lost. I had a lovely phonecall the other day from Keith, a guy I was on tour with for 6 months. I haven't seen him for a couple of years but it was like I'd only seen him yesterday.

So if you have a spare half hour or afternoon arrange a catch up over a cuppa, or if they're too far away... make a cuppa and give them a call.... I promise it'll make you smile.

Maximo

Maximo is our kitten... well he's six months now and is actually bigger than his Mum so he doesn't look like a kitten but he sure acts like one! His new thing is looking for spiders in every corner of a room...I keep catching him sat facing the wall just waiting for them!

I love him to bits and he's getting neutured tomorrow. It's a sad day.

He even talks and has been heard to say 'Hello' and 'Emma'!

good times/bad times

It's all a little crazy at the moment with moving and reassessing futures blah, blah, blah... but I'm a little overwhelmed how completely up and down it is.... it's either really good news or really bad news and it never seems to be 'just in the middle'. Take the last week or so as an example...

• my photos were blogged in Rock 'n Roll Bride (yay!)
• a water pipe burst in our house that we're renting out (boo)
• I got accepted on to a BSL Level 3 course (yay!)
• My car broke down on the way to Birmingham, I had to pay £120 to renew my AA cover and the car is now only fit for scrapping (a big boo)
• I have 5 wedding enquiries for next year (yay!)
• I get the flu as I'm just starting my new job so more time off without pay (boo)
• Pete (fella) gets an email saying he can transfer his job to a branch in the South so he now has a job to come down to which saves our bacon (yay!)

At least, whatever happens, I can always take photos........ :)
